Baby Great Horned Owls

with one comment

Somehow our local Great Horned Owl has found another mate after the death last year of her second hubby from eating something that had been poisoned. Lucky for her she is not alone in the area and has managed to have several baby’s this year.

This morning I walked through the haze of black flies to the area where she tends to hang out. In a stand of mixed trees overhanging the grasslands I found her youngsters perched on a limb 30 feet up a tree.

With a bit of luck and time spent in the woods I hope to catch some of the major growing events

for these guys . Learning to hunt from Mom is one I hope to photograph and early flights.

  1. Nice capture of the Owls. They love to hide, don’t they.
